Education has always been my passion – it is truly the “Great Equalizer” and a cornerstone to achieving the American Dream.
Now more than ever, it is my belief young people need a sense of purpose. They need inspiring role models. They need and deserve a high level of self-efficacy to create a happy life.
At Junior Achievement (JA) of Central Iowa, we’re committed to inspiring and preparing young people to succeed in a global economy.
Annually, over 31,000 Central Iowa students benefit from JA programs- in the core content areas of entrepreneurship, financial literacy and workforce readiness. K-12 students gain “real world” insights from volunteer role models who teach grade-customized units. Additionally, engaging experiential learning activities outside the classroom include: the unforgettable JA BizTown for 5th and 6th grade, JA BizTown Summer Camp and the highly competitive JA Stock Market Challenge for high school students.
JA of Central Iowa is a 501c3 non-profit funded annually by community business partners, board members and individuals who want to empower the future. On a much deeper level, our supporters help develop healthy behaviors in young people, break the cycle of poverty and empower young people to own their success.
Please know we’d enjoy visiting with you about our curriculum, volunteer opportunities, or ways your donation could make a big impact. We hope to hear from you at 515-279-9602.
